Captain America joins Black Panther.
Skydance New Media has announced the name of Amy Hennig's next project.
As we've known since 2021, the director of Soul Reaver and the original Uncharted trilogy was working on a Marvel game. A first teaser was released in 2022 and we learned some additional details, such as that it would be single-player, set in World War II, and feature Captain America and Black Panther as two of the four playable protagonists.
Thanks to his appearance at Epic's GDC talk, we've learned that it's going to be called Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra.
In the trailer we have seen Captain America and Black Panther facing each other but with a common goal: to eliminate the threat of the fascist organization Hydra.
The other two characters will be Gabriel Jones of the Howling Commandos (an elite group founded in the comics by Nick Fury) and the spy Nanali, originally from Wakanda and stationed in Nazi-occupied Paris.
The video and its subsequent presentation were intended to showcase the capabilities of Unreal Engine 5, such as Nanite Tesselation technology for lighting in a snowy environment.
Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be released in 2025. The platforms have not been detailed.
