In Beta, support for mods in Cities Skylines 2 gets date

After a turbulent launch, complete with performance issues and bugs, Cities Skylines 2 will finally receive mod support.

In a statement on the official forum, Paradox announced on Monday (18) that the first paid DLC will arrive on March 25. Titled 'Beach Properties', the new content pack features beachfront residential buildings, which includes new trees and unique buildings.

In addition, the long-awaited mod support will arrive on the same date, in beta, players will be able to customize their experience by choosing anything to create their dream city. This version will initially support Map and Code mods.

"Future updates will improve these tools and include support for Asset Mods. As we've talked about before, there will be updates to these tools that we're currently working on, and we'll see some updates before the 1.0 release. We'll take your feedback into consideration as we continue to work on the editor and look forward to seeing your feedback," Paradox said in a statement.



If you've been itching to unleash your creativity in modding Cities Skylines 2, now is your time, because with the Map Editor, you'll be able to create maps with Terraforming tools and add any other features you want – being able to download, use, and share custom content.

The studio also shared an updated roadmap, with all the news that is coming to the city-building game. According to the schedule, in the second quarter there will be two creator packs, Modern Architecture and Urban Promenades, to further enhance gameplay. In the 4th quarter, the 'Bridges and Ports' expansion will arrive to close the release cycle.
