The team responsible for Easy-Anti Cheat took a stand by reporting that they have investigated the reports and that they are confident that their tool does not have an RCE vulnerability, but that they work with partners to offer the proper support. The post with the positioning can be seen in the X.
Hacks, unfortunately, are more present in online games than players want, as they see their experience ruined. In an Apex Legends championship, players received unusual instructions after being the target of live hacks.
It all started during the final series of the Apex Legend Global Series when players "ImperialHal" and "Genburten" were unexpectedly able to see the other players from behind the walls. A few moments after the first hack, ImperialHal also noticed that an aimbot had gone into action and declared that he couldn't shoot.
Online tournament hacks may not be new, but the case may be a little more serious than it seems. The Anti-Cheat Police Department, a volunteer team responsible for monitoring online game exploits, has urged people not to play EA titles or any game that uses EAC (Easy Anti-Cheat) protection.
Going even further, the Anti-Cheat Police Department has recommended that players affected by the issue in the EA title or with EAC protection should format their PC as soon as possible. Not only that, passwords for services like emails and Discord should also be changed due to some rootkit that may have been installed.
Apex Legends Championship Has Been Postponed
Due to the whole case mentioned above with hacks occurring during the Apex Legends tournament, its final has been postponed indefinitely. The players, it is worth noting, were playing the tournament remotely.
