Kyiv – The Ukrainian and Russian sides have confirmed their desire to hold a second round of talks. According to the Russian press, the Russian delegation left for the meeting place on March 2.
“Today in the afternoon, in the late afternoon, our delegation will be in place. [Will] wait for the Ukrainian negotiators. Our delegation will be ready to continue the conversation tonight," Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
To a clarifying question about the place of the new meeting, the Kremlin representative replied that he would not name it in advance.
In general, he noted the presence of "a certain element of conflicting information" in the media on the topic of negotiations. According to the agency, a new round of negotiations between the delegations of Russia and Ukraine will be held on the territory of Belarus - in Belovezhskaya Pushcha.
Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that there is no exact date for the second round of talks between Ukraine and Russia.
“Now we are ready for negotiations, but we are by no means ready to accept any Russian ultimatums. It is still unknown when the new negotiations will take place,” Kuleba said during the last briefing, Zerkalo Nedeli reports.
Recall that the first round of negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations took place on February 28 near the Ukrainian-Belarusian border. According to the press service of the President of Ukraine, the parties discussed in detail a number of key topics in respect of which they have prospects for finding mutually acceptable solutions.
According to the Russian side, official Kiev was asked to legislate the non-bloc status of the country, to recognize the "LPR-DPR", to carry out "denazification".
War, casualties, humanitarian aspect
During the seven days of the war, more than two thousand Ukrainian civilians were killed, not counting the defenders of the fatherland, according to the State Service for Emergency Situations of Ukraine.

Pyrotechnicians neutralized 416 explosive objects," the statement of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine emphasizes.
The leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO) considers it necessary to open a humanitarian corridor in Kyiv. This was stated by the Director General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, reports Korrespondent.net on March 2.

UN raises funds for refugees in Ukraine
According to the website of the UN Refugee Agency, the United Nations and humanitarian partners have launched a coordinated collection of $1.7 billion to provide urgent humanitarian assistance to people in Ukraine and refugees in neighboring countries.
“The escalation of the conflict has caused an immediate and dramatic increase in humanitarian needs as the supply of basic goods and services has ground to a halt and civilians are fleeing the fighting,” the organization’s website says on March 1.
The UN estimates that 12 million people in Ukraine will need assistance and protection, while more than 4 million Ukrainian refugees may need protection and assistance in neighboring countries in the coming months.
Prevent a humanitarian catastrophe
International political scientist Andrei Buzarov believes that today, after seven days of hostilities, the parties are fundamentally not ready to negotiate on political issues.
“The only thing in which there can be a possibility of negotiating is a humanitarian moment. Today, after seven days of hostilities, it is obviously necessary to create a platform or organize a group of proxies to resolve humanitarian issues,” Andrey Buzarov tells the Voice of America Russian Service correspondent.
He explains his words and notes that at the moment there is a threat of a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukrainian cities and villages; parties to the conflict have prisoners.
“There are many facts of dead people, someone needs to deal with this issue, resolve the issues of exhumation, transfer of remains, negotiate the exchange of prisoners, improve the humanitarian component a little - prevent a humanitarian catastrophe in cities. There is a lot of information that people are looking for food, medicines, they are deprived of the necessary conditions for life,” Andrey Buzarov notes.
According to him, at this stage, from the opportunities for progress and understanding of the situation, it is possible to create a platform that would allow avoiding humanitarian problems for the population of Ukraine.
“Naturally, it is possible to solve everything with the position and methods of civil diplomacy,” says Andrey Buzarov.
Position of Ukraine in the negotiations
According to international political scientist Anton Kuchukhidze, the plan of the Russian "blitzkrieg" to remove the current government in Kyiv failed, and today's position of Ukraine in the negotiations is assessed as stronger.
“Russia's original plan failed: blitzkrieg, removal of the regime. They put forward demilitarization, but what kind of demilitarization can we talk about and what kind of compromise if we did not lose the war? They are losing to us in all directions,” says Anton Kuchukhidze to the Voice of America Russian Service correspondent.
Western countries, he said, responded to the call of the Ukrainian leadership to accelerate the country's entry into the European Union.
“The activity of the President and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, this concerns the signing of an application for accession to the European Union, gives us access to finance for the reconstruction of the country. Ukraine carries out active diplomatic activity – we receive weapons in large quantities, one can say that we are not alone in fighting Russia and Belarus,” he emphasizes.
Civil protests inside Russia, he also considers an action that will stop the Kremlin from continuing its aggression.
“Today there are rallies in Russia, plus three oligarchs opposed Putin's policies, once Khodorkovsky spoke like that and got persecuted. Little by little, it is possible to shake the imaginary unity of Russia. And the longer Russia drags out the war, the more it will receive colossal economic damage and an even more armed and united Ukraine, even more victims - today the figure of 5,800 killed Russians is true, ”Anton Kuchukhidze emphasizes.
He notes that the Ukrainian troops give a powerful rebuff on the battlefield.
“If you look at things without emotions, not a single large Ukrainian city has been taken by the Russians. Moreover, in addition to the fact that we are on the defensive, in the morning we went on the attack in the vicinity of Horlivka,” the political scientist says.
Stuffing about the alleged possibility of Viktor Yanukovych returning to Ukraine, according to him, is part of Russia's information attack.
