Everything that Apple will show at the presentation "Peek performance" on March 8

Apple officially announced that the presentation will take place on March 8. Rumors about this event have been circulating for several weeks.

This review rounds up everything Apple has to show off at its spring event next week, including the iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5, and more.

Apple Spring Major Events

Usually Apple regularly held presentations in the first half of the year - in March or April. Although new iPhones are not presented in the spring, these presentations cause a real stir among Apple fans. Here are some highlights of the spring over the past few years:

April 2021: Bright 24-inch iMac, iPad Pro, purple iPhone 12, Apple TV 4K and AirTag showcased at the Spring Loaded event.

March 2020: Apple introduced the iPad Pro 4 and iPhone SE 2.

March 2019: Apple introduced new Apple TV+, Apple News, Apple Arcade, Apple Card, and Apple Pay services.

What Apple will show in March 2022

Apple will officially host its spring event on March 8 at 9pm BST. The presentation will again be virtual and will be streamed from Apple Park in Cupertino, California. Apple named the event "Peek Performance".

Rumor has it that the 3rd generation iPhone SE will cost $399 as before. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo notes that it will have the same design but with two major changes - 5G and an improved processor.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that Apple will drop the price of the existing iPhone SE 2 to $199. This would be ideal for people who don't want to spend a lot of money on an iPhone, but it's not clear if Apple is actually implementing this strategy.

The presentation will be available to watch on March 8 on the Apple website, on its YouTube channel and in the Apple TV app. We will share more details on this as soon as they become available.

So, what will be shown at the presentation?

iPhone SE 3

Rumor has it that the 3rd generation iPhone SE will cost $399 as before. Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo notes that it will have the same design but with two major changes - 5G and an improved processor.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman suggests that Apple will drop the price of the existing iPhone SE 2 to $199. This would be ideal for people who don't want to spend a lot of money on an iPhone, but it's not clear if Apple is actually implementing this strategy.
iPad Air 5
The 5th generation iPad Air is rumored to take the place of the current iPad mini 6. It may get an A15 processor, 5G capabilities, four speakers instead of two, and Center Stage support for video calls.

We can see support for 1080p video recording at 25fps and 30fps. The iPad Air 5 is expected to have standard wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle camera lenses like the iPhone 13. However, sources say the camera won't include a LiDAR scanner like the iPad Pro.

iOS 15.4 release date

Apple released the fifth beta version of iOS 15.4 this week, with the update expected to be officially released by mid-March. Most likely, it will be released during the spring presentation.

iOS 15.4 includes new features such as support for Face ID with a mask, non-binary voice for Siri, new emoji, and more. Learn more about what's new in iOS 15.4 .

New computers on Apple Silicon: "Mac mini Pro"

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman recently listed seven new Apple Silicon Macs. In addition, a few weeks ago, Apple registered three new Mac computers in the Eurasian regulatory database. Usually, the appearance of Apple devices in the Eurasian database is an accurate indicator of new models, but it is not clear when exactly these computers will see the light of day.

Bloomberg's 2021 reports suggest that the higher-end Mac mini will include the same Apple Silicon as the current MacBook Pros. The Mac mini is also said to be getting a redesign with more ports than its current version. Bloomberg also says that this year we will see a Mac mini with an M2 processor.
MacBook Pro with M2 chip
Mark Gurman also shared his thoughts on the new MacBook Pro with the all-new M2 chip. This laptop will be sold alongside the 2021 MacBook Pro lineup, designed to replace the current 13-inch MacBook Pro.

The MacBook won't get the Touch Bar, miniLED display, or ProMotion technology like other MacBooks. The M2 will be more powerful than the M1 but less powerful than the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips.

Updated MacBook Air with M2 chip

The MacBook Air hasn't been updated since 2020, so it seems inevitable that we'll see a redesign announcement at some point this year, but it's unlikely to happen next week.

The new design will follow the 24-inch iMac models with white bezels and will be available in a variety of colors. It's unlikely we'll get any additional ports, but it's reported to be charging via MagSafe.

The current 27-inch iMacs are not yet released with Apple Silicon processors, but this is expected to change. Reports have shown that they will get a miniLED display with ProMotion technology. The new iMacs will run the M1 Pro and M1 Max chips, just like the 2021 MacBook Pro lineup. They may be called iMac Pro or the old iMac 27.

The new iMacs are in high demand as many users are looking for a desktop computer with MacBook Pro specs. Last spring's event featured the first generation of Apple's Silicon iMacs, featuring vibrant 24-inch displays.

Apple is also reportedly working on a new version of the Mac Pro, but it's unclear at this point if they'll be announced this spring.
