NVIDIA GeForce MX550 on par with AMD Radeon RX Vega 8 in PassMark

In December, NVIDIA introduced the GeForce RTX 2050, MX570, and MX550 mobile graphics cards. The latest model is the least productive and the most mysterious in terms of characteristics, because the company did not announce them during the presentation, and even now the page on the official website of the company cannot help in any way, only listing the supported technologies.

The TechPowerUp database suggests that the NVIDIA GeForce MX550 is based on the TU117 GPU with RT and Tensor Cores disabled, has 1024 CUDA cores running at a maximum clock speed of 1320 MHz, 2 GB of GDDR6 video memory with a 64-bit bus and a 25 W TDP. These characteristics are not official.

The test result of the video card was seen in the PassMark benchmark database , where it scored 5014 points. That was enough to outperform the GeForce MX450, Radeon RX 5500M, and even the Radeon RX Vega 8 integrated graphics in the Ryzen 9 5900HS. True, the difference is more like an error, so their performance can be called equal.
