Finland will send weapons and ammunition to Ukraine. This was announced on February 28 by Prime Minister Sanna Marin,
The Finnish shipment to Ukraine will include 2,500 assault rifles, 150,000 rounds of ammunition, 1,500 anti-tank weapons and 70,000 food kits, Defense Minister Antti Kaikkonen said.
Kaikkonen signaled that the government would abandon Finland's longstanding policy of not supplying weapons to war zones on February 27, when he said the government was considering sending lethal weapons to Ukraine.
On the same day, Finland decided to supply Ukraine with helmets, bulletproof vests and first aid equipment, and allowed Estonia to transfer artillery pieces that previously belonged to Finland to Ukraine.
