Rumor: names and prices of MSI motherboards with B660 chipset

Intel may introduce locked multiplier processors on January 4th . Together with them will be released motherboards with a set of system logic B660, allowing you to overclock the RAM, but not the central processor.

Apparently, the company's partners are actively working on replenishing warehouse stocks. Twitter user @ g01d3nm4ng0 shared a photo with the public listing the names and prices of MSI motherboards with B660 chipset. It is noteworthy that all of the above models work with DDR5 RAM, according to an insider.

At the moment, it is known that MSI is preparing 10 motherboards with the B660 chipset: 4 belong to the MAG line, the remaining 6 are included in the PRO line. The most affordable PRO model will cost $ 119, the most expensive - $ 209. Representatives of the MAG line will be slightly more expensive: $ 199 for the most affordable and $ 259 for the most sophisticated motherboard.

The release of B660 motherboards only with support for new generation DDR5 RAM does not seem entirely logical. In theory, buyers of such motherboards are not guided by premium processors or sets of RAM, but by mid-budget models, so it would be nice to give a choice between DDR4 and DDR5. Let's see how things will actually be when the company officially introduces the motherboards.
