Oppo Reno 7 SE will receive Dimensity 900 chip, AMOLED display and 16MP selfie camera

The Chinese company Oppo is preparing to launch new smartphones of the Reno 7 series. Shortly before the official presentation of new products on the Internet, detailed characteristics of the Reno 7 SE model appeared, the hardware basis of which was the MediaTek platform.

According to reports, the Oppo Reno 7 SE is equipped with a 6.43-inch AMOLED display from Samsung, which occupies 90.8% of the front surface of the case and covers the DCI-P3 color space at 95%. The applied panel supports a resolution of 2400 × 1080 pixels (corresponds to the Full HD + format), a contrast ratio of 1,200,000: 1 and a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz. The screen is protected from mechanical damage by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

There is a hole in the upper left corner of the display that houses a 16MP front-facing camera based on the Sony IMX471 sensor. The device also received a fingerprint scanner integrated into the display area. As for the main camera, it is built on the basis of three sensors and is placed in a rectangular module located on the back side of the case. The main one here is the 48-megapixel Sony IMX581 (f / 1.7) sensor with support for 20x digital zoom and 4K video recording. It is complemented by a 2MP macromodule as well as a 2MP monochrome lens.

The hardware base of the Oppo Reno 7 SE is the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chip with eight processing cores (two ARM Cortex-A78 cores up to 2.4 GHz and six ARM Cortex-A55 cores up to 2.0 GHz). The ARM Mali-G68 MC4 accelerator is responsible for graphics processing. The built-in 5G modem provides support for the fifth generation communication networks.


The configuration is complemented by 8 GB of RAM and 128 flash memory or 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of flash memory. Autonomous operation is provided by a 4390 mAh battery with support for fast charging up to 33 W. For connecting charging, a USB Type-C interface is provided. The design provides adapters for wireless communication Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, as well as a GPS navigation system signal receiver.

The Oppo Reno 7 SE measures 160.2 x 73.2 x 7.42 mm and weighs 171 g. It is expected to go on retail sale on December 17 and will be available in black, blue and gold color options. According to the source, the price of the base model will be about $ 420, while the more productive version will cost $ 470.
