NASA is currently using Perseverance equipment to search for evidence of microbial life on Mars. At the same time, scientists are happy to go to various experiments that reveal some of the secrets of the Red Planet. Among the instruments in the rover's arsenal are two microphones that regularly send sound signals to Earth.

According to astronomers, most often you can hear gusts of wind, the crunch of Perseverance wheels and the noise of its engines when the robotic arm is activated. Some of the sounds NASA publishes, which makes it possible for everyone to take an audio tour to another planet. On the video, you can hear several characteristic sounds with expert comments. According to them, Perseverance was the first such device to be equipped with microphones.

One of the devices is located to the side of the rover's chassis, and the second is located on the mast near the SuperCam laser device. The latter records the sounds of impacts produced by laser pulses while studying the rocks of the planet. According to NASA, this microphone has already recorded 25,000 impulses, but this is only the beginning of the journey.
