Intel plans to introduce the Alder Lake-S processor family in October. They are designed to work in the LGA1700 processor socket, which makes the existing cooling systems incompatible with it, but Noctua has officially announced a mount for the future processor socket.
The company announced a special mount that allows to use already released cooling systems with the new Intel LGA1700 processor socket. In addition, the shipment kits of new coolers will be equipped with a new mount from the factory, which is obvious.
“ We've been offering our customers free mounting kits for upgrades since AMD introduced AM2 in 2006, and we are proud to continue that tradition with the new Intel Alder Lake-S processors and LGA1700 socket. Since 2006, buyers have been able to upgrade most Noctua CPU coolers at no additional cost, so even 15 year old coolers can be used on the latest CPUs! "- Roland Mossig, CEO of Noctua.
To receive a kit with an Intel LGA1700 mount, you need to contact the company's support service, confirm the purchase and ownership of a Noctua cooler, as well as a motherboard with an Intel LGA1700 processor socket. Otherwise, the mount can be purchased separately on Amazon for $ 7.90.
