Intel is expanding its workstation processor portfolio with the Xeon W-3300 family. They are based on the Ice Lake microarchitecture, have received support for new instructions, and show a decent performance increase over the previous generation. In addition to the new microarchitecture, workstation processors boast Intel Deep Learning Boost, support for AVX-512 instructions, and Wi-Fi 6E.
The Intel Xeon W-3300 family includes five models: W-3323, W-3335, W-3345, W-3365 and W-3375. They received from 12 to 38 physical cores with support for multithreading technology, from 21 to 57 MB of cache, 64 PCI Express 4.0 interface lines, support for 4 TB of eight-channel DDR4-3200 RAM with error correction and a thermal package from 220 to 270 W.
Intel Xeon W-3300 show a decent performance boost over the previous generation. The company's internal tests show that Intel Xeon W-3375 is 26% faster than W-3275 in AutoDesk Maya preview, 20% faster when editing and encoding in Adobe Premiere Pro, in Cinema 4D the performance gain reaches 45%.
Intel recommends the Xeon W-3300 Workstation Processors for AI, construction (architecture, engineering) and media and entertainment. The recommended cost of the representatives of the new line starts from $ 949 and reaches $ 4499.
