For now, the future of publisher studios, such as NetherRealm, Monolith Studios and TT Games, is not yet clear.

WB Games games to be split in merger between AT&T and Discovery

American telecommunications giant AT&T has signed an agreement to merge the WarnerMedia brand - which owns Warner Bros. and HBO and CNN - with rival Discovery. The WB Games , currently working on producing games like Hogwarts Legacy , Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League , is being undone in some way as part of this endeavor.

The merger included some of the developer’s games, but not all studios and properties will be part of the deal. An AT&T representative told Stephen Totilo of Axios Gaming that "part of the games will be with AT&T and part with the new company".

WB Games is splitting up in some way due to the sale / merger of AT&T's WarnerMedia-Discovery. "Part of the gaming arm will go to AT&T and part to the new company," the representative told Axios. No more information. WB Games lists 11 studios, games for all types of IP and devices.

No further details about the deal have been revealed, and it is not yet clear what directions NetherRealm ( Mortal Kombat ), Monolith Productions ( Shadow of Mordor ) and TT Games ( LEGO ) will take from now on.

We probably won't see games in development being canceled, but it's too early to draw any conclusions. The way is to wait for new information in the coming days.
