Intel has unveiled a new solution for laptops called the "Optane Memory H20 with SSD" and, as its name suggests, we are facing a new generation of hybrid SSD with memory and SSD.
This product will be available to manufacturers in the following two versions from next month:
- 32 GB of Intel Optane memory with 512 GB of storage space.
- 32 GB of Intel Optane memory with 1 terabyte of storage space
Intel says it combines the best features of Optane technology with QLC 3D NAND:
"Combining the best of Optane technology and Intel QLC 3D NAND technology, the Optane H20 brings together revolutionary memory and storage technologies in an M.2280 factor form."
Intel will offer this hybrid SSD to laptop manufacturers starting next month, or exactly June 30th. Since we are dealing with a piece for laptops, we should not expect its widespread use in the market and it can not gain much share for itself, but we must point out that Intel has not yet announced the price of this product.
This new hybrid SSD is likely to be used with laptops, small desktops as well as All-in-One computers.
