Running smooth! Epic Games adds 120 FPS support on Fortnite on PS5

Epic Games released this Tuesday (15th) the update 15.10 of Fortnite. And it brings great news for users of PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S / X: support for the game to run at 120 FPS in Battle Royale and Creative modes.

To play these modes on the new consoles, the player must access the video settings of the title and enable “120 FPS Mode”. When you activate the option, the resolution drops from 4K to 1440p. Shadows, post-processing and streaming distances are slightly reduced, but volumetric clouds, side lighting and high-quality shading remain the same.

On the Xbox Series S, 120 FPS is available at 1080p resolution - this number rises to 1200p if the mode is disabled. Finally, shadow resolution and other settings are reduced and volumetric clouds are disabled.

Fortnite at 120 FPS requires a compatible monitor

To play Fortnite at 120 FPS on the new consoles, players need a monitor compatible with a 120Hz refresh rate. Video games must be connected to an HDMI 2.1 input in order to take full advantage of the frame rate.
