In a posting on its official website in South Korea, LG has confirmed that it will launch the company's first 5G smartphone during the MWC (Mobile World Congress) in Barcelona on February 24th.
The company also revealed some interesting specifications of the device, such as the use of a Snapdragon 855 processor, have a battery of 4,000 mAh and use a cooling system with a steam chamber, which implies that it will be a cool device.
This type of cooling is often used in smartphones gamers like Razer Phone 2 and the ROG Phone from ASUS because the camera allows heat to dissipate faster compared to a traditional cooling system. Although few smartphones use this method today, upgrading processors and introducing 5G systems (which require a greater amount of power to work) will likely make the system somewhat commonplace in any more advanced smartphone in years to come.
The company has not revealed anything yet about the design of the new model, but according to the various quotes of the LG V40 ThinQ in the text of the company, it is very likely that this new device is closer to the last big model of the brand than LG G8 ThinQ - a smartphone without 5G support that should also be presented during the MWC.
In the same post, LG also confirmed that the device will be sold in the United States, Europe and Asia from launch, and more information will be revealed during the MWC, which is one of the major international events in the mobile universe.
