Twitter, the social media platform that Elon Musk bought, has reached the highest number of users of all time.
According to documents obtained by The Verge, Twitter's monetizable daily user (mDAU) growth has accelerated by more than 20 percent since Musk's takeover.
"Twitter's largest ad market is growing even faster in the US," Twitter's sales team will say in a message to advertisers today.
Elon Musk also tweeted that "user numbers have increased significantly worldwide" since the deal to buy Twitter was announced on Sunday.
Twitter most recently reported 237.8 million daily active users and 16.6 percent annual growth for the second quarter.
DISCUSSION ON Objectivity
Twitter's new CEO, Elon Musk, called on the social media app to vote Republican in the midterm elections to be held today. But this message raises questions about Twitter's ability to remain neutral.
"To independent-minded voters: Shared power thwarts the worst excesses of either side, so I suggest voting for a Republican Congress, given that the Presidency is Democratic," Musk wrote.
Thus, he stepped into the political debate that the country's tech company executives were largely trying to stay away from.
Musk, who bought Twitter for $44 billion, has expressed his political views in the past and outside the platform.
However, it did raise questions about Twitter's ability to remain neutral under the rule of the world's richest man.
