The northern region of India includes some of the highest mountain peaks not only in the country, but in the whole world, most of which are part of the Himalayas mountain range that covers this part of India.

The mountain sits on the border between India and Nepal, in the national park bearing the name of the mountain, Kanchenjunga National Park.

The area is famous for being home to a large number of protected plants and animals, including some rare species such as the tiger and bear.
