The Office of the Prosecutor General begins to investigate the destruction of the civil aircraft An-225 "Mriya" by Russian invaders during the shelling of the military airfield "Antonov" in Gostomel in the Kiev region, the press service of the Office reports.
Under the procedural leadership of the Kiev Regional Prosecutor's Office, a pre-trial investigation will be carried out on the fact of violation of the laws and customs of war, namely Art. 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"This Ukrainian-made aircraft is one of the largest and most powerful aircraft in the world," the Prosecutor General's Office said.
The Office of the Prosecutor General's Office also noted that they document all war crimes of the military of the Russian Federation in order to inevitability of their punishment.
An-225 "Mriya" is the largest transport aircraft in the world. It exists in a single copy and is operated by Antonov Airlines.
