The Nubia brand introduced the Red Magic 7 series of smartphones. Flagship gaming models based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor have acquired an active cooling system, support high-power power supplies and are equipped with large amounts of memory. Despite the general external similarity, the devices received a number of design differences.
The base Red Magic 7 comes with a 6.8-inch Full HD+ OLED display overclocked to 165Hz with a 720Hz sensor refresh rate. The latter is especially important for mobile gamers who need accurate and fast touch response. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 flagship mobile platform is responsible for the performance of the novelty. The design of the proprietary cooling system includes a fan with a blade speed of up to 20,000 rpm, as well as an evaporation chamber with an area of 4124 mm².
The amount of LPDDR5 RAM in the novelty is 8 or 12 GB, and the UFS 3.1 internal storage is 128, 256 or 512 GB in different configurations. In addition, the company has introduced technologies for accelerating reading and writing of the drive (Magic Write), memory overclocking (RAM Boost) and image enhancement (Magic GPU) into the smartphone.
The battery capacity of the smartphone with support for 120W fast charging technology is 4500 mAh. The novelty also acquired a triple main camera (64 + 8 + 2 MP), Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 modules, and stereo speakers. The novelty is presented in three design options: in addition to the colors of Dark Knight and Cyber Neon, the manufacturer also released a version with a transparent back cover.
The cost of new items in the 8/128 GB configuration is $615, while the 12/128 GB and 12/256 GB versions cost $695 and $757, respectively. The "transparent" modification is available with 12/256 GB and 12/512 GB memory ($773 and $867).
The Red Magic 7 Pro has the same basic specs as the base model, but with a few extras. One of them was the Red Core 1 coprocessor, designed to improve the gaming performance of the device. In addition, both devices received special touch panels. They are located on the side of the case and act as gamepad triggers. At the same time, in the older model, they have a higher polling frequency - 500 Hz.
Another difference of the Pro-version was the display support for 10-bit color depth and increased up to 960 Hz sensor sampling rate. The device is equipped with a subscreen fingerprint scanner with a heart rate monitor function and a front camera, also located under the surface of the display module. In addition, the "firmware" has from 12 to 18 GB of RAM (up to 24 GB, including the swThe Red Magic 7 Pro is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with support for 135-watt fast charging. The claimed time for a complete "buildup" of the battery from scratch is only 15 minutes. At the same time, the power of the complete smartphone power supply is even higher - 165 watts.
