Following the report on the forthcoming release of the MediaTek sub-flagship chip, the Digital Chat Station insider shared the results of testing the new product in a popular mobile benchmark. Judging by the figures, the company is preparing to again impose a war on its main competitor - this time in the middle price segment.
According to the published test results, the new SoC scored 230 points in AnTuTu 820 in total - more than last year's Snapdragon 888. At the same time, Dimensity 8000 is not positioned as a flagship solution and will presumably be installed in mid-range smartphones or "light" versions of top devices.
According to MediaTek, the new proprietary chips are designed to meet high requirements for energy efficiency without sacrificing performance. Next-generation mobile platforms are expected to be featured in smartphones from various brands, including OPPO, vivo, Xiaomi, Honor, and more. It is worth noting that synthetic benchmarks do not always reflect the real performance of hardware in gaming and other work scenarios.
