DxOMark on ZTE Axon 30 Ultra screen: Smooth and accurate, but color issues

 


ZTE Axon 30 Ultra is positioned by the manufacturer as a smartphone with a high-quality screen. This statement was decided to be verified by the experts at DxOMark: a number of tests of the gadget's display were carried out both in controlled laboratory and in real conditions.

Recall that the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra is equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 1080x2400 pixels, an aspect ratio of 20:9 and an adaptive refresh rate from 60 to 144 Hz.


Based on the tests performed in DxOMark, the strengths of the ZTE Axon 30 Ultra display included: 


  • lack of artifacts
  • smoothness during games and Internet surfing
  • instant video playback after moving the slider on the timeline
  • no frame drops at 30 fps and very rare drops at 60 fps
  • excellent sensor performance, which is characterized by precise touch and the almost complete absence of ghost touches
  • that the smartphone copes well with shaking

But not without comments on the screen ZTE Axon 30 Ultra. Based on the test results, the experts named the following shortcomings of the smartphone:

  • inaccurate colors with a strong pink tint when viewing most still content and HDR10 content
  • low brightness in any ambient light, especially under sunlight, although the device adapts well to low light conditions
  • frequent frame drops during games




As a result, ZTE Axon 30 Ultra scored 78 points and took 47th place in the overall ranking of smartphones according to DxOMark.
