The DxOMark laboratory tested the audio capabilities of the Black Shark 4S Pro based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888+ chip. Similar to the smartphone model with the same processor version, but without the "plus", the device showed the highest sound quality among current gadgets.
Black Shark 4S Pro is equipped with symmetrically located (bottom and top) stereo speakers and three microphones. The device also received a Cirrus Logic audio chip and support for DTS and AAC codecs. According to the test results, the following advantages were noted when playing both third-party content and content recorded on a smartphone:
- excellent spatial characteristics and timbre;
- natural tonal balance;
- very wide soundstage in landscape mode;
- good localization and remoteness of sound.
Nevertheless, experts have identified some shortcomings of the Black Shark 4S Pro. So, when playing some songs, there was a slight hiss and slight distortion of bass at high volumes. And in terms of recording, the smartphone showed the presence of artifacts at high volume, cut off high frequencies and a narrow sound stage when shooting a selfie video.
Even with the downsides, the experts concluded that the Black Shark 4 Pro is an excellent choice for gaming, listening to music and watching movies, thanks to its stable and impressive sound in all use cases.
The smartphone scored 81 points and took first place according to DxOMark.
