Japan created a screen that you can lick to taste

Professor Homei Miyashita of Japan's Meiji University and a team of students have developed a prototype TV screen that can simulate tastes. To do this, the display must be licked.

The system is called Taste the TV (TTTV) and uses 10 flavored vessels that, when mixed, produce the desired flavor. The mixture is then applied to a hygienic display film for the user to taste.

Professor Miyashita said that in the era of a pandemic, these technologies improved the way people interact with the outside world. The goal, according to the scientist, is to create an opportunity for people to taste something similar to food in a restaurant on the other side of the world, even if they stay at home.

This is not the only solution of this kind. Students from Miyashita's team have created a fork that enhances the flavor of the food.

As for TTTV, it was created in the last year, and the author is confident that the commercial version will cost about $ 875.

Miyashita also intends to create a platform on which users can upload and exchange their taste preferences. He draws an analogy with music.

And one of the students showed the journalists the work of Taste the TV. She ordered chocolate and then received the order she needed. It really tastes like milk chocolate.
