China launches stereoscopic mapping satellite into orbit

According to the Chinese government news agency Xinhua, the Ziyuan-1 02E satellite was launched into orbit today. For the launch vehicle of the "Great March" series, this was already the 403rd launch.

Xinhua News Agency reported that the launch of the Changzheng 4-si (or Long March 4) rocket was carried out from the Taiyuan Cosmodrome, located in Shanxi province in northern China. The launch vehicle was launched at 11:11 Beijing time (6:11 Moscow time). The agency does not specify the details of launching the satellite into orbit, and nothing is said about the purpose of the device - it is only reported that it was the 403rd launch of the launch vehicle in the "Long March" series.

At the same time, according to TASS, we are talking about a satellite that was built by the Chinese Academy of Space Technologies. The device is designed for high-resolution imaging of the Earth's surface, and we are talking about stereoscopic cartography. Recall that in September, China launched an optical satellite for Earth remote sensing Gaofen 5 (02), developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Technology (SAST) - it is also equipped with instruments for monitoring the atmosphere, water and land. The satellite has joined other remote sensing devices.
