Xiaomi has introduced a new premium projector called Laser Cinema 2. The main feature of the device is support for Dolby Vision technology when displaying content in 4K resolution. And apparently this is the world's first projector that supports Dolby Vision - previously this technology was found only in TVs and monitors.
Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 can project an image with a diagonal of 40 to 200 inches, but the manufacturer recommends using diagonals from 80 to 150 inches to ensure the best image quality. The projector can display images in 4K resolution with a 3000: 1 contrast ratio. It provides 113% Rec. 709, and besides Dolby Vision also supports HDR10.
The projector exhibits a brightness of 2400 ANSI lumens. It uses ALPD RB + technology, which means the inclusion of a red laser to improve color reproduction. In addition, the new product boasts support for dynamic compensation of the number of MEMC frames up to 60 Hz.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi Laser Cinema 2 is based on the 64-bit MediaTek MT9669 chipset with four Cortex-A73 cores clocked at 1.9GHz. The amount of RAM is 3 GB, and the storage capacity is 32 GB. The device runs MIUI for TV operating system (based on Android) with all the functions available on Xiaomi and Redmi smart TVs. The novelty supports work with the voice assistant Xiao AI. The device boasts two 15W speakers with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS Sound. In terms of port selection, the Laser Cinema 2 is equipped with three HDMI 2.0b, two USB 2.0, one S / PDIF, 3.5mm audio jack, and an Ethernet port. A virtually silent fan is used to cool the device.
The projector is priced at $ 2345, but it will hit stores during the upcoming Singles Day Sale at a discounted price of $ 2033.
