Call of Duty: Vanguard has not yet managed to get to a full-fledged release, and insiders are already sharing information about Modern Warfare 2, which is due out in 2022. VGC has shared new details about the upcoming shooter, as well as denied a number of past rumors about its storyline campaign.
According to the portal, the new Modern Warfare 2 will really tell about the drug wars against the Colombian cartels. The campaign promises to be even tougher than the last part of the sub-series - with a lot of battles in confined spaces and difficult moral decisions. Due to the emphasis on covert operations, the usual episodes with heavy equipment will be replaced with more suitable ones.
VGC has also confirmed past rumors of improved artificial intelligence. Opponents will behave more realistically in battle: pinch bullet wounds, shout and swear, and also react logically when the player is shooting at them. At the same time, information about animations such as weapon jamming was not entirely accurate - they will be used to enhance cinematography and will not become a regular part of the gameplay.
VGC sources also noted that previously published information about the importance of moral decisions and cruelty in the story campaign was somewhat exaggerated. Such episodes will indeed be, but they will not be so significant for history. And rumors of a PT-inspired horror mode turned out to be false. Instead, Infinity Ward is preparing a PvPvE mode on Warzone maps - according to the idea, it should replace the format with zombies, but plans may still change, because fans of the series are very fond of the walking dead.
By the way, the "royal battle" itself will receive a new location with the release of Modern Warfare 2. It is expected that Infinity Ward will collect it from the maps of the classic version of MW2, which will also return in the new shooter. Most likely, the developers will improve the old arenas, weapons and other elements of the original and make them the basis of multiplayer.
Recall that there have been no official announcements about the next part of Call of Duty yet. So far, Activision is preparing for the release of the Vanguard, dedicated to World War II. The shooter will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, Xbox One and Series X / S on November 5. Recently, by the way, it got system requirements .
