The Chinese company Oppo, according to online sources, is scheduled to announce its first smartphone equipped with a flexible display next month. The device is codenamed Peacock.
It is claimed that the novelty should become a competitor to the device Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3. The device will receive a design in the form of a book with a flexible screen that folds into the body.
It is talking about the use of Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor. The chip combines eight cores with a clock speed of up to 2.84 GHz, an Adreno 660 graphics accelerator and a Snapdragon X60 5G modem.
The size of the main flexible display, made on the OLED matrix, will be from 7.8 to 8.0 inches diagonally. The refresh rate of the panel is called - 120 Hz.
The device is credited with the presence of a side fingerprint scanner, a selfie camera with a resolution of 32 million pixels and a main camera based on a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 sensor.
The smartphone will ship with ColorOS 12 operating system based on Android 12. No pricing information is available at this time.
