The State Corporation "Roskosmos" informs that the general assembly of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket and the Progress MS-18 cargo spacecraft took place in the assembly and test building of the site No. 31 of the Baikonur cosmodrome.

The Progress MS-18 cargo vehicle is ready to be sent to the ISS

The named device will deliver to the International Space Station (ISS) approximately 2.5 tons of cargo for the crew of the 66th long-term expedition. This, in particular, 560 kg of refueling fuel, 420 liters of drinking water in the tanks of the Rodnik system and 43 kg of compressed air in the cylinders of oxygen supply.

In addition, about 1490 kg of various equipment and materials, including resource equipment and tools for extravehicular activities, medical control and sanitary and hygienic supplies, clothing and food products, are stowed in the cargo compartment. Equipment for the experiments Matryoshka-R, Biomag-M, Aseptic, Structure and Photobioreactor will also be delivered to the ISS.

Reportedly, the space warhead (with the spacecraft under the fairing flaps) has already been docked with the third stage of the Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle. This assembly is docked to the so-called rocket package (first and second stages).

The launch of the carrier to the launch pad of the Baikonur cosmodrome is scheduled for Monday, October 25, 2021. It should be noted that the rocket received a Khokhloma painting on the side blocks of the first and third stages - in honor of the 800th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod. The launch is scheduled for October 28th.
