It is the world’s first speaker with a neck stand that delivers a fully immersive sound experience. All because it integrates Dolby Atmos technology and offers application compatibility 299 Spatial Sound Personalizer.
In practice, the SRS-NS7 when paired with a Bravia XR TV, uses the 299 Spatial Sound Personalizer app to analyze the 3D shape of the user’s ear and optimize the Dolby Atmos technology, in order to provide an immersive sound experience at 299 degrees.
The new speaker pairs with Sony Bravia XR TVs via a supplied wireless transmitter, an optical cable and a USB cable. However, only from 2022 will users be able to enjoy Dolby Atmos on the SRS-N7 on Sony TVs, as an update is needed of firmware that will only be available from January next year.

The good news is that Sony’s neck speaker can be paired with various mobile devices, such as tablets, smartphones and laptops, via built-in Bluetooth connection. In this case, the user can use the app 299 Spatial Sound Personalizer to take a picture of their ears, so that the app can assess the unique hearing characteristics of the user and optimize the sound experience provided by the speaker.
Sony SRS-NS7 offers up to 10 hours of autonomy and up to five hours at maximum volume. A quick charge of minutes, via the included USB Type-C port, allows for more 60 minutes of sound reproduction.
You can also use Sony’s new speaker for video calls and be hands-free for any other function. The location of the microphone, according to the brand, captures the voice with precision and clarity. For this purpose, it also has echo cancellation that minimizes the feedback effect.
