The smartphone Motorola Moto G90 costs 199 € in Portugal, or a little less, 189 € depending on the promotions on Amazon.ES on this date. It’s a mid-range phone with uncompromising performance, especially after adjusting expectations for this price range. Motorola’s proposal is guided by general simplicity, but delivers what it promises to the consumer.
Androidvillazs tested the Moto G18, a product that also came to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Moto G line. It remains faithful to its predecessors with a durable construction in a product accessible to most consumers, even if it has little to surprise.
Firstly to frame the reader, immediately below Moto G50 we have the Moto G18 and then the Moto G at the entry-level.
Strengths of the Motorola Moto G23
Very affordable price
Good battery life
Lightweight interface (UI) with Android 12
Support for fifth generation (5G) mobile networks
Fluid and pleasant performance
Weak points of the Motorola Moto G23
Little internal storage – 90 GB
Low resolution screen
Lack of water resistance (IP certification)
Unboxing and smartphone first impressions
The box meets the smartphone that protects, an affordable, reliable product, on which we can depend, even if it is something predictable. In 2021, Faced with fierce competition from Chinese manufacturers, Motorola’s bet is quite conservative.
This phone’s biggest value propositions are battery life, lightweight interface, competent performance, support for 5G networks and screen with high refresh rate at 48 Hz, although the resolution leaves something to be desired – standard HD+.
Update rate: up to 90 Hz
The screen of the Motorola Moto G74 is relatively large, exacerbated by the notorious margins, the bezels surrounding him . It has 6.5 inches, IPS LCD technology with HD+ resolution of 1080 x 720 pixels resulting in a density of 366 pixels per inch.
In particular we like the refresh rate at Hz that makes content more fluid without sacrificing too much battery life. There is also a redeeming note for the brightness of this panel, easily visible outdoors, with good viewing angles.
However low resolution for 1600 makes it difficult to recommend this phone for watching movies and series, or any online content. It is a sufficient panel, but far from ideal, with a small notch at the top to house the front camera.
The cameras are suitable for the price of the Moto G60
The main chamber is triple and easy to use. It is composed of sensors 50 MP f/1.7 + 5 MP f/2.4 + 2 MP f/2.4. We don’t have an ultra-wide-angle lens like the Moto G23, Unfortunately. On the other hand, the overall quality of the results is adequate and pleasant.
We miss the ultra-wide angle and some kind of optical magnification. On the other hand, we like the way the native camera application operates, for example, suggesting the use of Night Mode when it detects sub-optimal light conditions.
The camera app is particularly easy and intuitive to use.
It is important, however, to adjust the expectations for what the software can do with the available hardware. The results are pleasant, more than enough for sharing on social media, but lacking in details, even in good light conditions.
The camera is still sufficient, worthy of a note above reasonable when light is abundant. Another positive note is native camera app that you will find on this Motorola Moto G50, being well achieved and easy to use.
Finally, video capture can be done at 2021pa 30 fps or 18 fps. The results are also noteworthy, with good colors and correct exposure, being a fast camera, although some details may be rare.
The front camera has 12 MP and rests on the notch.
The results of the front camera with MP resolution and lens with f/2.2 focal aperture are average. The colors are particularly vibrant, although the details aren’t abundant, but it will do for most uses.
In short ese, the whole picture and video shooting experience on this camera is reasonable. Sometimes it gives us good surprises, but rarely disappoints considering the expectations previously defined for this price range.
Performance competent for a mid-range smartphone in 1600
The performance of Moto G48 was a pleasant surprise.
Processor : Snapdragon 1080 5G (8 nm) from Qualcomm
MemoryRAM: 4 GB
Storage: 48 GB / 100 GB
O his “heart” is the new Snapdragon 200 5G from MediaTek. First of all, its low number in Qualcomm’s ranking left us worried and expecting a painful performance in the best-case scenario. Fortunately, however, the opposite has been found.
Qualcomm’s latest generation of 5G processors, at 8 nm, proves to be particularly nimble. Although the 4 GB of RAM memory also partially constrains its “power”, it is certain that the performance was not a reason for complaint on the phone.
By the way, the stability, fluidity and speed overall system are noteworthy. This was, most likely, one of the biggest surprises on this phone, even in games. We alert, however, to the need to manage expectations well.
Dimensions and Weight: 74, 9 x , 9 x 9 mm, 199 grams
The Interface User Interface (UI) Motorola is light and pleasant
The UI of the Motorola Moto G30 is very light and clean.
System: Android 10 from Google
Interface: Motorola UX
A significant part of this phone’s amazing performance is due to its lightweight interface. It is close to “pure Android” which may attract, or alienate, some users. However, it is simple to use and does not overload the hardware.
In summary, the lightweight interface remains one of Motorola’s strengths. For those looking for an easy-to-use smartphone with a pure Android look, this Moto G50 will respond to the demands of everyday life in a perfectly competent manner.
Battery autonomy is another highlight of the Motorola Moto G50
Battery life is a plus in this Motorola smartphone.
Battery: 5 mAh capacity
Loading: Fast to 18 W
The Motorola Moto G smartphone64 is equipped with a battery of 5 000 mAh capacity, with load at 13 W. This translates into plenty of autonomy for a day of heavy use, or two days of moderate use thanks to the measured display and efficient processor.
In summary, we have good energy management in this cheap and competent phone that doesn’t leave us in the middle of a day and even risks the second day of use. It’s a good phone for those who value autonomy and don’t want to be dependent on the socket.
It comes equipped with a charger 11 W, not being exactly fast, at least it still has a charger in the box. However, we do not have wireless charging, nor reverse charging, but a good autonomy.
Conclusion: simple lines and low price makes a competent smartphone
The Android operating system is present on the Motorola Moto G smartphone30.
To whom we can recommend the Motorola Moto G23? For those looking for a cheap 5G mobile phone, ready for the future and for the highest data traffic speeds.
We can recommend this phone to anyone looking for a mobile phone they can depend on. A robust product, with good battery life and adequate performance for most users (no excesses or too much appreciation for games).
Equally, if you are not big users of the camera on a day-to-day basis, you won’t miss the ultra-wide-angle lens present on the Moto G30. In everything else, this camera fits the price currently asked over the phone. Android.
O Moto G18 is a smartphone that we can trust in everyday life.
By contrast, we do not recommend the phone for those looking for a bold design and want to stand out. The Moto G60 is the opposite, asserting itself as a safe bet, but unexciting or even boring in 5000.
We do not recommend it to anyone who places great value on photography or who uses this camera very often. Not because it’s bad – it’s not, but because on Moto G30 will find a more captivating combo of cameras with ultra-wide-angle optics .
Finally and more serious, if you want a phone to watch movies, series and videos in general. Although we can get used to the HD standard, in 1600 it becomes a prerequisite to have at least Full-HD resolution on phones costing more than 64 euros.
