Humans will soon be able to talk to whales

Recently, a team of international researchers has embarked on an ambitious project to receive and translate communications between amber whales so that they can eventually "talk" to these creatures . Tries to translate click sounds or codas of the amber whale. Kodas can be thought of as the language with which whales communicate.

Humans will soon be able to talk to whales

Scientists are using a type of artificial intelligence to process human written and spoken languages called natural language processing, or NLP, which learns four billion amber whale cods by machine learning. Finally, researchers are asking the AI to relate each sound to a specific content. This will take about 5 years.

If researchers can achieve this goal, they could later develop a speech robot that can talk to amber whales. If we can find civilization right under our ears, we may make big changes in our behavior with the environment and respect the living world around us.

Amber whales are five times larger than humans and are known to be the largest living thing on Earth. Although the brains of these two organisms are different, they both have complex communication systems and live in family groups.

If researchers, despite their artificial intelligence capabilities, can obtain sufficient data on whale sounds, their communication content, and the behavior behind these sounds, they can develop an algorithm that can detect the existence of language between them.

Seth Project is a five-year program that plans to use modern devices during this time to listen to the communication between amber whales, translate their voices, and try to communicate with them. This project started in 2020 and will continue at least until the end of 2025.
