2K Publishers and Gearbox Software have announced a free trial of their first-person shooter Borderlands 3 on the official Borderlands website .

All Borderlands 3 target platforms – PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S. On PlayStation consoles, the preview is reportedly available only to PS Plus subscribers.
To play Borderlands 3 during the Free Weekend, you need to find the standard edition of the game in the digital store on the selected system, download and install it.
Borderlands 3 Free Weekend was only launching on Steam at the time of this posting. The date and time of the end of the promotion are as follows:
- Steam – until 19 October in 20: 01 in Moscow;
- PlayStation – until 18 October in 19: 01;
- Xbox – up to 17 October in 10: 01.

As part of the trial period, they promise access to the entire game with post-release updates, crossplay support (between PC and Xbox consoles), as well as transferring progress to the full version.
Borderlands 3 is out on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X and S, and Google Stadia. Owners of the game on consoles of the previous generation have a free upgrade to versions for new consoles.
