Instagram crash alerts will pop up in the user activity feed
After Instagram has suffered two abrupt interruptions in its service , with one of these leading to a six-hour cut, the application is testing a new way to alert users to this type of failure.
According to Instagram, the alerts may appear in the users’ activity feed. More specifically, this type of notice will serve to inform users of problems that may be occurring on the platform, related to uploading content or, as it happened, with serious failure in the service.
A new functionality was announced by the application itself, which stated that with this initiative it intends to provide answers to users when they “get confused” and that, at the same time, it wants to inform them about the technical problems that the application may face.
However, Instagram also says that not all interruptions will be communicated to users. The application will only send notifications when it considers that these failures can cause widespread confusion. Also according to the application, the feature is now being tested in the US.
