The smallest flying computer created [VIDEO]

Scientists at Northwestern University have developed the tiniest flying structure ever made by man. The miniature device is capable of monitoring various environmental parameters, and is comparable in size to an ordinary grain of sand.

According to the researchers, they were inspired by nature, and maple seeds were used as a prototype. They fall down and float slowly, remaining in the air for a long time due to their shape. Microchip flying devices resemble propellers, which gives them a lot of time to collect data. Scientists proudly state that they have surpassed nature, as the form they found was more effective than maple seeds.

.

“Our goal was to add flight functionality to small electronic systems. The devices will be used to track changes in the environment, monitor air pollution, monitor populations or track diseases, ”the researchers explain.

It is especially important that after fulfilling their functions, microscopic sensors will not increase the ecological problems of the Earth, but will quickly dissolve in a short period of time.
