Representatives of the company showed the concept of an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. NextGen looks extremely impressive, and a full-size prototype is promised to be presented in 2023.

NextGen is designed for vertical take-off and landing using six massive, high-lift propellers. Additional power is provided by two rotors at the rear of the V-tail. It is assumed that movement in the horizontal area will be provided due to the inclination of these particular rotors.
Apparently, the range is not particularly worried about Airbus engineers: this figure is at the level of 80 km, which is inferior to many potential competitors. The cruising speed will reach 120 km / h, and only four people will fit inside together with the pilot. Perhaps the developers have other vehicles with more impressive autonomy in the plans, but so far nothing is known about this.
Airbus pays special attention to the noise factor. Despite being much quieter than helicopters, vertical takeoff electric aircraft remain too loud for normal cities. The company claims that NextGen will generate noise levels below 70dB upon landing, which is equal to the volume of a conventional vacuum cleaner. NextGen is expected to be able to fly in 2023, and certification will be completed by 2025.
