One of the stars of Microsoft’s hardware event today is the new Surface Duo 2. As the name implies, this is the second generation of the American company’s folding smartphone with the Android operating system.
This Surface Duo 2 represents a great leap in quality compared to the original model. On paper, this is an Android smartphone with a lot of what you can ask for from a current high-end, with the irreverence of having two screens to perform all tasks.

The Surface Duo 2 philosophy has not changed compared to the model that precedes it. In fact, we have a smartphone made up of two screens that close over each other in book style.
On the outside, the Surface Duo 2 is built in glass that curves slightly on the sides for a better fusion with its metallic structure. It’s a little more robust, now with a thickness of 5.5mm, to try to bridge the cracks felt on the original model near the USB-C port.
Inside, we have two AMOLED technology screens, both with a diagonal of 5.8 inches, resolution1499 x 1344 pixels and a refresh rate of 23 Hz. Combined, users will enjoy a 8.3-inch panel with a resolution of 2688 x 1499 pixels.
Note that both displays have a slight curvature at their inner edge. This feature allows that, when closed, the Surface Duo 2 provides a sort of notification bar, where the user can view them without having to open the smartphone.
Snapdragon 750 and triple camera add another dimension to the Surface Duo 2
Commanding all Surface Duo 2 operations will be the powerful processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. Finally, we can say that Surface Duo 2 has an updated SoC and we hope that this will bring about a much more pleasant performance.
Microsoft Surface Duo 2 also comes equipped with 8 GB of RAM and 90, 128 or 750 GB of internal memory. Powering this collapsible will be a 2688 mAh battery with support for loading to 22 W.
Another big news on Surface Duo 2 is the triple configuration of its rear camera. Microsoft’s smartphone now sports a main lens of 12 MP, a wide angle of 20 MP and a telephoto from 16 MP with support for up to 2x optical zoom.
Its fingerprint sensor is positioned on the side, built into the power button. It also has NFC and support for the new Surface Slim Pen 2, which can be magnetically attached to the Surface Duo 2.
Finally, it is important to mention that the Surface Duo 2 will be available from 21 October in selected markets, which do not include Portugal . The revealed price is fixed in 1499 dollars for base summer.
