Apple Watch will soon receive a new set of medical features

Apple plans to add to the functionality of the device the ability to measure blood pressure without using a special cuff. An American company has been working on this technology for at least five years - the first patents describing a portable blood pressure monitor date back to 2016. According to insiders, Apple is already ready to implement such a solution in its smartwatches.

In addition, the wearable accessory may receive several more new features. These include a body temperature sensor, as well as the ability to analyze blood oxygen levels in more detail to diagnose a disorder such as apnea , in which a person experiences breathing problems while sleeping.

One promising feature that will take the longest to emerge will be the ability to track blood glucose levels using non-invasive monitoring. It is noted that Apple continues to develop this technology, but the company has not yet reached the stage of its implementation in commercial devices.

As for the Apple Watch Series 7, the gadget, according to the informants, will receive a new design and an increased display size. The functionality of smart watches, preparing for the announcement, will remain at the level of last year's model, and there is no need to wait for the appearance of new sensors in 2021.
