The Polish police issued an official statement according to which the fact of mining bitcoin was revealed in the building of the Main Office in Warsaw. As the representative of the department clarified, this activity was carried out by a civilian, and not by a law enforcement officer.

After that, the police made official comments. Inspector Mariusz Ciarka, a spokesman for the police chief, said: “A civil servant, not a policeman ... tried to steal electricity to mine Bitcoin. Unfortunately, it happened in a police building . "
Mr Charka added that the suspect at no stage of his activities had access to the databases owned by the police. There was no access to them either from the equipment on which the cryptocurrency was mined. Although the mining used the general network connection of the Main Directorate. The inspector also noted that the offense was disclosed as soon as possible, although he did not specify exactly when.
TVN24 journalists found out some more details of this incident. When the fact of illegal activity was revealed, not only the suspect in the mining of the cryptocurrency himself was fired, but also another person, apparently involved in the incident. At the moment, the detainee has been charged with the theft of electricity - the case has been transferred to the Warsaw District Prosecutor's Office, which will investigate the crime and further legal proceedings.
