The update can be considered a major one, since before that, the Android version of Edge was based on Chromium 77, which means that it was inferior to other reviewers both in terms of available features and in terms of performance. Now that will change, as Edge 92 is based on Chromium 92 as you might guess from the name. With the unified codebase in place, Edge will get new features faster, and this release also has some useful innovations.

Users can now sync passwords, history, tabs, bookmarks, favorites, and more across devices through a single Microsoft account. The browser has a built-in ad blocker and tracking trackers built on top of Adblock Plus. It can be customized according to user preferences through the "Privacy and Security" menu. Edge 92 also has a built-in screenshot tool that can be accessed through the Share menu. Users will also be able to forward web pages to other devices synchronized with the same Microsoft account.

According to reports, the Android version of Edge 92 is being rolled out in stages and will soon be available to all users of compatible devices in the Play Store.
