The new smart watch Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, which is expected to be announced in the coming days, may receive support for two voice assistants at once. We are talking about the standard Google Assistant and Samsung Bixby AI - the manufacturer's own development.
When Samsung launched smartwatches, it opted for its own Tizen platform. However, this year it was announced that the Korean manufacturer had teamed up with Google to create a joint development of the two brands dubbed Wear OS 3. The Wear OS client application revealed software components indicating that the platform may receive support from third-party voice assistants.
Samsung is actively promoting its own assistant Bixby, including its support in all smartphones, starting with the flagship Galaxy S8. Therefore, the assumption about the appearance of this feature in the Galaxy Watch 4 seems logical. Moreover, it may indicate that other voice assistants will also come to the smartwatch segment. For example, support for the Amazon Alexa assistant is found in Fitbit and Amazfit solutions.
The official announcement of a whole series of Samsung products is scheduled for August 11th. On this day, in addition to the presentation of the Galaxy Watch 4, the announcements of the Galaxy Z Fold 3, Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy S21 FE smartphones, as well as the Galaxy Buds 2 branded TWS headphones are expected.
