NVIDIA has unveiled the RTX A2000 dedicated graphics accelerator for workstations. The novelty is the most compact video card on the Ampere architecture and is able to fit without any problems even in the smallest cases of the SFF form factor.
The RTX A2000 is primarily aimed at professionals looking to take advantage of ray tracing and artificial intelligence technologies. It is ready to provide 8 teraflops of performance, is equipped with 3328 CUDA cores and 6 GB of GDDR6 video memory with error correction (ECC). The memory is connected on a 192-bit bus and has a bandwidth of 288 GB / s. On paper, these characteristics make the new product more efficient compared to the mobile GeForce RTX 3050. At the same time, the card consumes only 70 watts of power.
The main environment for using the RTX A2000 is various graphics editors and 3D modeling programs, such as Blender, Autodesk 3DS Max and others. The card received second-generation RT kernels, as well as third-generation tensor kernels to speed up tasks associated with the work of AI algorithms.
A cooling system with a tangential fan is responsible for removing heat from the components of the video card. The card is equipped with four DisplayPort 1.4 connectors. The width of the RTX A2000 is about 7 cm and the length is about 17, which is almost half the size of the model of the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 gaming accelerator.
The RTX A2000 graphics card should appear as an affordable option for workstations from ASUS, Dell, HP, Lenovo and many others in October this year. NVIDIA estimated the new product at about $ 450.
