Despite a global chip shortage, Microsoft has sold more than 6 million Xbox X and S series game consoles, with Nintendo Switch leading the way with 88.84 million units sold.
During his fourth quarterly conference, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella reaffirmed the company's commitment to the growing presence of the Xbox console in the gaming space. Despite global shortcomings that have made it very difficult to buy Xbox X series consoles, Microsoft says their next-generation console is still the best-selling device.
In addition, Daniel Ahmed, chief analyst at Niko Partners, estimates that total sales of the Xbox X and S series consoles have reached 6.5 million by July 9, 1400. It should be noted that the Xbox One and Xbox 360 consoles (two generations ago) sold 5.7 million and 5 million, respectively, in the same period.
"Xbox GamePas online service is also growing rapidly," Nadella said.
Millions of people have streamed games to their PCs, tablets and mobile phones, and the Xbox X and S series consoles are the fastest-selling consoles of the previous generation.
It should be noted, however, that the Xbox sold less than its rival, the PlayStation. Sony also announced yesterday that, like Microsoft, it was facing a shortage of chips and, of course, speculators , with sales of the PlayStation 5 exceeding 10 million units and the PlayStation 5 becoming the fastest-selling console in the United States.
According to VGChartz estimates , the Nintendo Switch console was the best-selling console, selling about 400,000 units in the week ending July 17th . Nintendo handheld console has sold 88.84 million units so far.
