Apple and Google address the need for vaccinations for employees in the office

An interview with an Apple representative was shown on the American TV channel. According to him, Apple has not yet made a final decision on whether to require mandatory vaccinations from employees who will return to work in the office in October this year.

An Apple spokesman noted that the main issue for the company is now the choice of the time when employees should return to office work. On the need for vaccinations, Apple "monitors what is happening on a daily basis" to determine if a vaccine requirement is "the right requirement or not . "

Apple originally planned for employees to return to work in the office on a three-day work week starting in September. But in early July, it was announced that Apple "will not ask employees to return until at least October . " The company said it will give at least a month's notice of when employees are due to return to Apple campuses .

Against this background, Google's position looks more pragmatic. Google announced that it has made a decision on the mandatory vaccination of all employees who return to work in the company's offices. Google currently employs over 130,000 people, and the vaccination requirement applies to all of them. Like Apple, Google has postponed a return to office work until mid-October.

"... our main focus right now is on when to come back ... we pushed it from early September to at least October ... we are monitoring things daily to really conclude whether that is the right answer or not " https://t.co/zhBqwocynm

Apple and Google are delaying the return of employees to office work due to the proliferation of a new Delta strain, which is believed to be more transmissible than the original COVID-19 strains. According to statistics, its spread has already led to a sharp increase in the number of infected in the United States.

Apple's plans to return to office work are rumored to have become unpopular with some of the company's employees. They are reported to be so used to working remotely and convinced that they can do much of their work from home more efficiently that they are now reluctant to compromise their work schedules.
