Chinese blogger and technology director Gu Zhuang was accused of paying more than $ 154,000 (one million yuan) in damages for publishing Xiaomi's Mi 10 video and revealing some details about it.
Last year, before the official release of a version of Xiaomi's Mi 10 phone, the Chinese blogger released an unboxing video that appeared to violate the privacy component.
According to a ruling by China's International Economic and Commercial Arbitration Commission, Gu Xuiang, the blogger has not complied with the confidentiality agreement signed with Xiaomi and the release of information about the relevant version of the Mi 10 phone.
The report also adds that he posted an unboxing video of the Xiaomi phone online, and as a result, the video has been shared by users across the Internet. Therefore, his behavior, in addition to violating the confidential agreement between the two parties, has disrupted the process of introducing Xiaomi's new product and has caused irreparable damage to the company
As a result of the ruling, Gu Zhuang is required to pay more than $ 154,000 in damages to the Chinese mobile phone maker. If for any reason he is unable to pay the damages within the prescribed period, he must also pay the damages in return for the delay. He has also been asked to publicly apologize to Xiaomi over the next seven days. The cost of the lawsuit for this case is about $ 15,000, which Gu Zhuang has to pay in full.
The controversial blogger posted an apology on the Chinese social network Weibo, apologizing to all users, including Lee Joon, the company's CEO, and Xiaomi.
