Xiaomi Mi Alpha R: So can be the smartphone with scrollable screen

Smartphones with an extensible or scrollable screen are preparing to be the next trend in mobile segment innovation. At a time when versions of Samsung, Oppo, Nokia, LG, and other smartphone manufacturers are due in 2021, Xiaomi will also be thinking about its alternative.
Xiaomi prepares the one that could be called Mi Alpha R (the name used for reference only). This has already been patented in terms of design and technology, and the LetsGoDigital website shows us these images.

Thanks to the designer Jermaine Smit (Concept Creator), we have renderings (and concept on video) of how the product will look when it leaves the paper. The smartphone with flexible screen documentation was approved on October 29, 2020. \

The design is very similar to that of the Mi Mix Alpha, with the particularity of providing an extensible screen. The goal is that you can be a “normal” smartphone screen and, when you need it, you have something that extends to the tablet format.

You should note that these are only 3D renderings based on the patent registered by Xiaomi. And like any patent, it does not mean that this product will officially reach the market.

Even so, several brands announce their alternative in this regard for 2021. Xiaomi never got to present its foldable smartphone, staying with the Mi MIX Alpha that had no commercial expansion. The manufacturer now appears to be looking to “roll out” to new mobile formats in the future.
