CDPR shares drop 20% after removing Cyberpunk 2077 from PS Store

The removal of Cyberpunk 2077 from the PlayStation Store was extremely damaging to CD Projekt RED. The company's stock value dropped by 20% on Friday morning (18), equivalent to the US $1.7 billion of its market capitalization (via Business Insider ).

Last Thursday night (17), the company's shares were trading at 309.20 Polish zloty (PLN) but fell to 260 PLN at the opening of today's trading session (18). At 11:30 am - Brasília time - the number dropped even further: 253.40 zloty. At this time (12h: 30), the shares are trading at 266.70 PLN, slightly increasing.

In May, CD Projekt RED had overtaken Ubisoft and consolidated itself as the most valuable game company in Europe. Despite this, the post was lost in October to the French publisher itself after reports of crunching at the company.

On Monday (14), the Polish company apologized to the community for the turbulent launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Also, it offered refunds to dissatisfied players on the PS4 and Xbox One platforms. Initially, Sony declined user requests but is now working on the matter.
