Final Fantasy VII Remake breaks US sales record

The NPD Group released sales figures for April 2020 in the U.S., and the big winner was Final Fantasy VII Remake . The title broke the record for commercialization of the series in a debut, became the most acquired in the month and the third if counted the entire year.

Mat Piscatella, a company analyst, gave more details about the data regarding the remake. According to him, Square Enix's game broke records set in the franchise by Final Fantasy XV . Now, the game starring Cloud Strife holds the largest number of units sold and dollars generated during launch.
Final Fantasy VII Remake was the best-selling game of April, instantly becoming the third most sold of the year and the most purchased of 2020 on PS4. The remake also sets a record for franchise sales in both units and dollars. The brands previously belonged to Final Fantasy XV, released in December 2016.

Another highlight is Call of Duty. Both Modern Warfare (2019) and Modern Warfare 2 Remastered reached expressive marks: the first was the 2nd best seller in April and the other reached the 7th position thanks to its launch on PC and Xbox One.

It is also worth mentioning the appearance of Predator Hunting Grounds , a title that debuted in April and occupied 15th place in the ranking.
