Apple hires a major BBC producer
Alsion Kirkham, who previously was responsible for events for the BBC and was responsible for documentary series including Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II will join Apple TV Plus this summer and will be in charge of original series and films without a script in Europe.
According to information shared from imore, Kirkham is the first major employee of Apple's UK team since film producer Joe Oppenheimer joined the tech giant at 2018.
Alison joined the BBC at 2005 and clearly her departure after 15 years has not left the executives of the important British chain indifferent. Upon her departure from the BBC, Charlotte Moore, BBC's chief content officer, said:
I would like to thank Alison for leading the events during such a period of such impressive creative success… We will all miss her and I hope you will join me in wishing her the best in her new role.
