Technology companies like Huawei, Samsung, and Apple, sell technologies to each other, despite being competition. In the case of Samsung, the Korean company sells RAM memories to Huawei, whose business was affected by the ban in the United States.
Inevitably, Samsung has suffered a break in the sale of its memory chips. The company may face a 50% drop in sales for the second quarter of 2019.
It is important to note that Samsung is the world's largest supplier of RAM (NAND and SRAM) memories. Since Huawei is the second largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world, it is a super important customer for Samsung.
Trump has stated that Huawei is no longer banned but evil is already done
Recently, Donald Trump said that Huawei can now buy technology from US companies again. This announcement was made at the G20 summit where a truce was made in trade agreements between the United States and China.
However, Huawei's mobile-phone sales were heavily affected. The company's CEO projected a 40 percent loss in international mobile phone sales. The Chinese market is currently supporting Huawei's position.
Samsung may lose in sales of memories but will win on mobile phones
All the customers that Huawei is missing out on, Samsung and even Apple will be happy to welcome. So, despite the decline in sales of components, Samsung will come out on top as it is a direct competitor of Huawei in the mobile phone market.
